Johannes Prischl
born 1962, living in Vienna/Austria
Musician
Performer and composer in various music genres: Mainly Jazz, but also classical, electronic and electro-acoustic music, afrocuban music, film music etc.
Main instruments: flute, soprano and alto saxophone, wind synthesizer
Performances in Austria, Germany, Finland (Pori Jazzfestival 1991), Belgium, Poland, USA, India (Jazz-Yatra-Festival 1988 at Bombay, Delhi, Goa and Bangalore) and Panama.
Collaborations with Klaus Obermaier (Open Art Band), Hubert von Goisern, Klaus Dickbauer, Donny MacCaslin, Peter O’Mara, Franz Welser-Möst, Jeunesse Orchester, Lungau Bigband, Christian Maurer, Juvavum Brass, Christina Zurbrügg, ORJC Big Band de Champagne, Mozart-Quintett, Elfi Aichinger, 4Saxess, Punzodrom, Josef Novotny, Oberösterreichische Bläsersolisten et al.
Compositions for chamber music ensembles, bigband, sinfonic wind orchestra, filmscores, multimedia projects in conjunction with poetry, photography, dance et al., electronic and electro-acoustic music, music for computer games, arranger in various styles and genres.
Producer at CD recording sessions with Juvavum Brass, Saxovhonik Quartett, Lungau Bigband.

University Mozarteum Salzburg: Instrumental music education and performance studies (main instrument flute)

Teaching
1987-2015 teaching at Mozarteum University Salzburg, main subject Jazz/Pop, later also New Media in Music; 2000-2002 chairman of the music education department.
2001/02 planning and installation of the » Media Lab « at Mozarteum university (see also https://medialab.moz.ac.at/). Conception, development and direction of numerous new courses in that field.
2002-2006 lecturer and assistant chairman of the master course New Media in Music Education at Mozarteum University Salzburg.
